Online Counselling Agreement

The following document is an additional supplement to our counselling agreement to incorporate any online sessions that might take place during the pandemic of covid-19. These are temporary measures made in order to help prevent the spread of the virus and to remain working together safely.

Appointments, sessions and confidentiality, fees, cancellations/holidays/missed sessions, and data retention and privacy statement remain as per our original agreement.

Online Platform

I will use the online platform zoom for our sessions. This will work best if you have downloaded the app. Before our session, I will send you an email which will contain a link to click on to join our meeting. Please click on the link just before our session and then click on the icon that says join meeting. It may take a few moments before our webcam and audio are connected properly. If you would like to have a brief practice before hand, I am happy to do this.

Technological Breakdown

We both commit to minimising the risk of interruptions during our session. If in the event our online session is interrupted by technical difficulties, we should both log out of the system and I will send you a new meeting link via email. If beginning a new meeting is unsuccessful, I will contact you on the phone number you have already provided me with.

Privacy

You will ensure you will login from a quiet or private environment and I will respect my commitment to your confidentiality. Although zoom has the facility to record sessions, this feature will not be used by either of us. At the end of our time together, I will let you know our session is ending. Please close all internet pages that relate to our time together to maintain privacy.

Self Care

You may wish to have a drink or tissues to hand while we are talking. Endings online will be a different experience to our face to face meetings. Please choose a pleasant activity to engage in for a while after the session while adjusting.
